Resolved Question: HELP! Where to release baby turtle into the wild?

I am stuck with a baby turtle that was brought probably on the street in china town. I can't determine the species but it is a nice dark green color with squiggly designs on the side of it's face. I don't think it's a red slider due to the lack of red spots but it looks almost the same. I am temporarily in stockton california with this turtle. What do I do with it? Can it survive in the wild?
